Sorting Saturday-Time Capsule-A Bottle of ???

When we first opened the Time Capsule, we noticed a rather pleasant smell. Not what one would expect upon opening up a suitcase that's been closed for over four decades.  I have no idea what's in this little gem but, like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps on going and going and going.

The words are terribly faded but I can make out the word Paris Japan (thanks Kerry).

  1. I wonder if it's perfume? Or some kind of spice jar? It looks like it might say "Japan" on the front, with a picture of a Japanese woman on the right.

I am loving this series on the treasures in there!

  2. Kerry, I wish I could put a scent on the blog :)

I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this up! It definitely says Japan. And I can see the Japanese woman on the right. Sure wish I could read the rest.

I'm glad you are enjoying the Time Capsule.

My guess is a spice jar, too.

  4. What a neat time capsule Michelle! I am very much enjoying your posts on this. Wonder what the smell is too? I am thinking a spice of some sort!
