10 Reasons Why I Haven't Blogged Much Lately - #31WBGB

I have been wanting to write this post for several weeks now but haven't had time! Here's my assignment for Week 2 of 31 Weeks to a Better Genealogy Blog, Making List Posts Work for Your Genealogy Blog.

I've been rather busy the last couple of months and will be for several more weeks. It's been cutting into my blogging time! Here's why:

  1. Youngest Child graduated from high school.
  2. We've had several waves of company (see #1 above).
  3. I spent several days helping Oldest Child move.
  4. We put the Family Home on the market and had one last final push to get it emptied out.
  5. We've been involved with several softball tournaments.
  6. We attended Freshman Orientation with Youngest Child.
  7. I have been working hard to sort through the contents of the Family Home (see #4).
  8. Did I mention that we have been very involved with softball tournaments?
  9. Those darn bills, household tasks, etc. have been really piling up.
  10. By the end of the day when I realize I never got around to writing up the latest blog post idea, I am exhausted and my brain is fried!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Onward and upward!

  1. Well, at least you have legitimate reasons! If I tried to do a list post on this subject, it would be 1. I'm trying to spend more time on research, 2. I'm trying to spend more time on research, 3. I'm trying.... Not very interesting.

And that end of high school/start of college thing is a real killer.

  2. Greta, Spending more time on researching is very legitimate in my book!

I'm glad this is the last time we will go through the end of high school/start of college transition. It is a killer.

  3. Michelle, life is ... Well life. How wonderful to have graduations, softball tournaments, and family to keep you busy. And what great stories and memories you are making.

See you soon (but take your time and enjoy every minute),
    Denise

  4. Well Dearie... you have just blogged yourself into a corner with no excuses left! Now, with an empty house, that frees up at least 6 hours a day for research, copying, blogging, preserving, separating, categorizing, compiling and minimizing all those treasures the family basement spewed forth.
    Oh... Good Times ahead!!!!

  7. Michelle - Clearly you have been busy! I too have been rather overwhelmed with things and have decided to take a bit of a blogging break to weed my garden and enjoy the summer. I hope my little "vacation" will re-spark my energy and produce some seriously inspired blog posts come this fall. Enjoy your time!

  8. Anonymous, Good times are ahead regarding the contents the family basement continues to spew forth from its new locations. Probably a few nightmares too :)

Cynthia, Enjoy your gardening! That is one activity I reluctantly gave up, for this year only! I do miss working in the soil and growing scrumptious veggies.

  9. I feel your pain, but in the other direction! My 7 and 4 year old have been keeping me busy with camps from one end of the county to the other. Summers are exhausting! Good luck with getting everything done!

  10. Cinamon, I remember those days so well! It's just as exhausting when they get to be teenagers and young adults but in a different way. Enjoy the journey. It goes by SO fast!
